The Nature of Blacking Out << that's a link
A project I’ve started in which I blackout unnecessary text from a book to form a poem. The book is a 1921 fifth grade nature textbook. I noticed a lot of blackout poetry wasn’t looking so hot and was a little inspired by Austin Kleon. These poems aren’t just cool words picked at random and called poetry. I tried using my own style and voice (which is ever changing because that’s just the nature of a young poet) to say something new and meaningful, something someone can read and understand, something that has an impact.
